Make mistakes!

‘Thank you for the workshop in Manchester last week. I found it really useful and learned a huge amount. It was really good to be under pressure to work fast. It meant I made plenty of mistakes and was informed as a result!’

A comment from the Manchester workshop last week. It’s good because it flags up a basic principle of the workshops which is, know the mistakes you have to correct and those which you can leave in.

I realise that generally people always want to finish with the best mosaic they can but you need to treat every (Roman) mosaic you do as a page from your personal textbook. You can look back on it and have the lessons you’ve learnt reinforced.
